Really Strange problem after installing FL SDK 1.3!!

Hello people,

I wanted to begin with some FL modding again, but I encounterd a very strange problem. For my custom servermod with new systems, etc.. I used FL SDK version 1.3. But for some reason after I installed the SDK in my freelacer folder, all the faction ship encounters don't show up anymore on my server :O ?? It happens when I make my own server and come on to my own server.
This all looked strange to me so I reinstalled a totaly fresh FL and I ran a server. When I came on my own server nothing odd happend and all encounters where there. Then I decided to check it out with the SDK install again. After the installation of the SDK I see the same problem ==> No ship encounters in every system from any type of faction at all :X !!

Maybe someone could help me out with this problem, I would be very pleased if it is solved.

Thanks.

Try using the latest version. Its version 1.5

Hmmm, I tried the 1.5 version but the weird thing still happens :X !! I really dont know what is going , because I didn't had those problems in the past. Could it be a damaged CD, or maybe my firewall??

It sounds from your post like you're installing the SDK after your own mod. The SDK will overwrite your files with standard Freelancer ones - the order you should do this in is:

a) Install Freelancer
b) Install the SDK
c) Install your mod.

The best thing to do is change the properties of the SDK files from read only to archive and then copy your MOD files to the folder where you extracted the SDK files to...overwrite the necessary files... and then zip up your MOD with the SDK files included.

Accushot is right, it sounds like your overwriting your MOD files by installing the SDK files after you activate your MOD.

Thanks for the help so far people, I maybe wrote my post a little bit odd. Because English insn't my mother language, I'm not that good with english grammar .

The real problem is that after point B.

a) Install Freelancer
b) Install the SDK

When I do a clean FL install and run a server no problems occur(running FL without any mods loaded). After that I install FL SDK 1.3 or 1.5 (tried them both) in the main FL Folder and still the problems occur (still no FL mods loaded). Just a clean FL and SDK install. Also I checked the server console and no error messages (only with version 1.3 that give a engine_good.ini error). I maybe it is best that ill try not to install the full SDK in my FL main folder, but only the .ini files nessesary for my mod.

Open the engine goods file and just add a space that's all you need in that file.
It's empty and sometimes you get an error because of the fact that it is empty.
So like I said open the engine goods file and just put in a space or you can just put a ;
and save it and you should be good to go.
