By the way ... thanks to all of you who have taken the time to reply so far. I really appreciate it. I hate to be a pain in the a$$ about this, and if the cutscenes weren't so critical to making the whole mod premise and scenario seamless, I'd just change things so that the cutscenes don't really matter. But that is a total departure from what I am trying to do and I really hate to release the mod (my first published one) with such glaring inconsistencies. Besides, I'm just obsessive-compulsive enough to not want to give up on something that seems so straightforward.
Okay ... going to try another experiment. Since I had no problem with Juni's ship in the cutscenes on Sprague, I'm going to try out a crazy idea. I got Juni's ship to work by changing her one-off defender variant in the shiparch.ini file (and the loadouts.ini file) while leaving the mission thn files as original. Maybe there is something about the thn files not recognizing a shiparch nickname not in the original game. I know -- doesn't really make sense, but I'm desperate now. I'm going to see if I can give King Juni's ship (which is changed in the shiparch.ini file to the new ship) and see if that works. Wish me luck ... I'll let you know how it turns out.
That looping is either fled-thorn hasn't decompiled it correctly or Freelancer can't use that thn decompiled. I've tryed it with an edited decompiled one and an uneditted decompiled thn and get the same result, namely the effects loop like crazy. If anybody knows how to recompile them please let us know.
