Argh! Damn Systems

ARGHHH!!!
Makes me mad!

allright, i have deleted some systems, namely all of them apart from nesseciary ones and added a new one to start in in MP, it all worked until 20 min ago when now when i sun a server it goes insane and does an endless loop in server console going WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH though the systems and telling me they dont exist, WTF!

cant i tell the idiot server that thy dont exist?

you probably forgot to clean up the bases in mbases.ini - if that doesn't work i think i still have a total conversion starter set somewhere i can give you that has all of the errors removed

...did you redo the entries in Universe.INI? Cause ya know, if you didn't.... it might be a problem ><

Because universe.ini holds the info for all the bases and planets, and it's trying to load the bases and planets in the systems you deleted.
To fix it, just figure out every base in every system you've deleted and put them on a list, then find one of those base charts so you can find them in the universe.ini, then simply delete all those entrys.

I experimented to delete all systems, expept liberty and fp7 system. I deleted the entries in the jumphole entries in initalworld, mbases, universe even in de legel_path ini's. But still when I run a server it takes very long to load, because of the error messeges it gives if I look to the server console. Much error messages are about missing systems :S?? Are the systems somewhere hardcoded in FL, I have seen the Freeworls mod and that mod doesnt show those errors. I also wonder how you fix this problem.

Doubt it, you forgot to check the following:
market_misc.ini
market_ships.ini
market_commodities.ini

And all that good stuff :p

ok, trail? If you didn't modify Universe.ini, thats why its crashing. it is CRITICLE that you change Universe.ini so that it is only referencing your systems, and FP7 (which you should have left in there). You can leave the base entries in there, because FL doesn't seem to care whether or not they exist, but systems MUST be added and deleted.

goodie now it should work... unless we have other nasty references hanging around. Curious that FL doesn't care about bases though...
