How about something really different, like alternative versions of the heavy lifter and repairships? I had an idea of a new encounter with new ship classes, it was with droid transports escorted by lots of small and lightly armed drones. Also, i have created drone encounters aimed at patrolling and defence. Escorting ships and defenders really don't need cruise disruptors, so they should have their own unique loadouts. Defenders don't need fast engines, cos they're not going anywhere.. I'm planning on having a go at modelling them myself, but i think its a pretty good idea. I'd like to see some more ships similar to the Hydra B, the multirole fighters. Maybe not quite so strong, but a mixture of fighter and freighter. Ideal for pirates and Independent treaders alike.

Make a little tiny "bug" ship that should probably be NPC only. They are TINY, weak, but deadly in swarms. It be lag-hell, but it'd be cool
