Homeworld 2 MOD

I have recently been infected with the MOD bug by Black Eagle's and Silvik's MODs (A Curse on you both!) so I figure why not give it a try?

Heres what Im thinking:
I think it would be cool to convert or add a few ships from Homeworld to Freelancer? These are the 2 best games i have ever played.
I am, however, not very inventive and I just recently started messing with code so Im going to need lots of help/advice.

1. I cant find pictures of the ships?
I figured I would post pics of ships and ask for recommendations (VHF, Too many guns, etc.)
But I cant find the pics in my Homeworld file. How do you get that stuff?

2. What is a recommended number of ships to begin with?
I'd like at least 2 VHFs 2 Heavy Fighters and 2 Light Fighters. Is that too hard?
I will of course expand on this. (several HW ships would make good capital ships)

3. Its going to need a good Hard Point adder/editor/modder.
Also going to have to have a few "Invisible Guns" as some of the weapon slots are fixed.

4. This may not be such a workable idea as most of the ships have big engines...
Having your whole screen filled with an engine bank is no fun.

As this is a disscusion on wether I should attempt this I Decided to post in the Editing Disscusion instead of the Mod Anauncement.
