Is this a mod?

On a server I have been on recently i have been fighting agianst a clan. Each time you launch a missle at them it flies at them normal then breaks like a cm is fired even when they are not using cm's or have no dropper. Other times thye do the disconnected lag out then suddendly reapper with a full shield. Thier aim is much higher than thier overall skill . I have yet to see them miss a shot on a pass yet they are to dumb to strafe dodge and they turn improperly. Are any of these thigns possible mod's ? If they are how can they be reliably detected. Normally I would think it is lag but it is only a cretain group.

F1 shield regening is cheating in its self but the missle going off course could be them using a disruptor and hitting it with that, usually though the missle will explode when hit. I would report them for F1 regen if nothing else to the admins and warn they might be modding.

There is a bug in current TNG mod that causes missiles not to be able to track their targets well in circumstances that seem to be too many people using beam weapons. I think the high fire rate lags the server to a stage where missile tracking becomes too slow to function (maybe it's a lower priority than gun fire). Hope that helps

The server this is on is 1.0 . WHile I am aware of the lag bug. Even my dial up had enough pseed on the inet for missles ot track me. I have run severl test where the other clan were sitting idle in space. Anything beyond a straight shot at them missses even if they are not moving. I have fired missles at other people and scored hits at the same times. With both dsl and dial up lines no missle accuracy accured on them. Regarding the bug in TNG would thier be a way that htye are recreatign it on the client side? Thank oyu for oyur responces thus far.

I don't know what effect deleting the sur file for a ship would have if done client side and do not have the facilities to test.

I heard about missile aiming cheats where activating it would provide nearly invulnerability from missiles as they would never hit you.

About gun aiming, well I think this one is luck or other things but afaik there's no cheat for this.

For turning, yes there are mods to allow faster turning.

If you do want to make sure they do not cheat, ask an admin to check them. (Do not tell it to them, make it be a surprise or they'll simply remove the mod)

I know you can get some auto robot aim but I don;t knoiw how succesfulyl you can implement that in mp

They can cheat and change their missile specs client side. There is no way to prove that they are doing this. An admin will have to fight them without them knowing it and make a call as to whether to ban them or not.

Come on over to Asylum 51 where we don't have any missiles or countermeasures or mines for just that reason.

One can either use skill and kill with guns and a torpedo at most or be a coward and use missiles.
