Maximum Hardpoints

I have just searched the forums for the answers to this question. How many total hardpoints can you have on a ship in FreeLancer? I need to find out how many guns/turrets I can have on a ship. Is there a limit on the total number of weapon or weapon types?

We've secretly replaced their dilithium crystals with new Folgers crystals. Now let's watch them go to warp.

I remember reading somewhere here that 24 is the maximum number of weapons (i assume guns + turrets).

While I was building the alpha for Tides of War I found that the game would crash if I tried to fire more than 32 weapons simultaneously. I don't know if there is a restriction to the number of weapons that you can carry on your ship at once, but since there is a limit on how many can shoot it really doesn't matter too much. Now, you can sort of get around this by making the weapons multi-barreled, as the restriction is strictly based on the number of weapons, not the number of projectiles; however, you will of course lose the weapon firing sound if you have more than one barrel. Granted, you can attach a sound effect to the projectiles themselves, but this really isn't a substitute for having the guns making the sounds.

I think Burnout is talking more along the lines for a base and how many weapon hardpoints i can or can't have on it.

This was his question. I think it has been said at 32, though the higher numbers can cause problems. Have to do a little research.

If your talking about all hardpoints then the TCS Vesuvius must be getting close to that number, its got about 24 guns hasn't it?

Just be warned that attempting to fire too many weapons simultaneously will crash the game (it always dies for me at 32, presumably it's the same for other people). Anyway, if you want more hardpoints on your ships, the best way is probably to do it yourself; pick up a copy of the very excellent HardCMP utility and go to war.

Heh, I'd forgotten that I'd mentioned this elsewhere. Makes me wonder what other things I've written that I no longer remember.
