vignette_type = exlusion doesn''t work?

Hi,

vignette zones for random missions use 3 possible values for the parameter vignette_type:

open
field
exclusion

But the type exclusion do not exclude this vignette zone from offering missions within it (MultiPlayer, SinglePlayer ?). I also looked in the New York system.ini and there its exactley the same. Does anybody know what's the different for the vignette_type and the impact?

I may well be wrong but i assume exclusion type means if in a field then asteroids etc are kept out of the zone for the mission duration...

Anton is right, each type is defined for a terrain type :
-Open : Open wide space with nothing in.
-Field : Nebula/Asteroid Field.
-Exclusion : Inside an Exclusion Zone of a Nebula/Asteroid Field.

thx Anton,
but that isn't it. I've made a vignette with type = exclusion in an asteroid field and the asteroids spawn during the mission and you can still fly into them.
I orignally thought you could exclude these zones from random missions )in a bigger vignette) but this not correct. Also the type = field does nothing for me. Maybe it only works in SP? In the li01 system are many vignett4s defined as exclusion and fields ... but whats the influence to the game?

Only use the type = exclusion within an exclusion zone? Than whats with the type = field? I've tried it wihtin an asteroid field and i saw no change.

type = exclusion vignettes will not do the exclusion at all!
The "type = X" is there to give Freelancer an idea of how the environnment should look, but this applies for Missions only. It wont change anything, it's only Freelancer that needs these for missions.

To do an exclusion zone, you need to make a zone (You can take your Mission Vignette Zone too) and insert this in your asteroids field/nebula file :

[Exclusion Zones
exclusion = X

where X is the nickname of the zone.

Hope this helps

@FriendlyFire

Yes, your right. Freelancer needs this information for creating the random missions. It have nothing to do with the "normal" exclusion zones.
In the vignetteparams.ini is defined, that missions with solar objects will only be created in the vignette_types = open, exclusion and never in fields (used for asteroids, ...). That make sense to me :-)

thx
