Click here
This is the link to the Loot Mod by Wasabe/Chips. It enables exactly what you want.
I warn you that this mod may cause lag problems.

About the music, no as far as I know it isn't possible.

Well, I think you could still make it being an optionnal MOD that people would download if they wish. If they didn't, they would get Freelancer music.

To add a new music, simply open music.ini in the Audio folder and add these :
[Sound
nickname = music_li_danger ;Nickname of the music
type = music ;Type, must stay a music
file = audio\music\music_li_danger.wav ;Path from Data to your Music file. MUST be a .wav
attenuation = -6 ;Volume of the music. 0 means real volume, in the negatives it drops.
streamer = true ;I have no idea, let it like this

Add as much as you want, and have fun!

Erm, the looting had nothing to do with me - it was all Wasabe!

As for music - to find what plays in which systems, open up your systems.ini file that your in (say Li01 - New York):

[Music
space = music_li_space
danger = music_li_danger
battle = music_li_battle

So search that file for these nicknames, and you will then see the 'route' of the sound file (route is taken as data folder if I remember correctly )

can you add more than 1 music file to each spot like put a comma:
EX:
li_music;linkinpark_li_danger1;thered_chevelle2

or something like that?

I'm not too sure TBH, you definitley cant use the ; sign but if you use a comma, maybe. Try it out and let us know.

I cant make the files in .wav

You need it on CD and the newest version of Media player. Rip the music from the CD and save it in what ever version you want, MP3, WAV, Wmf or get a converter program to do it.

Just a quick note to add about the looting. If you want ships to drop ALL of their cargo when player looting (and / or NPC) looting is switched on, then you will need to adjust as well the entry:

units_per_container = 1

in the select_equip.ini

This will need to be done for each commodity. The reason being is that a maximum of 7 containers will be dropped from a ship when destroyed (I assume this limit was put in place so that servers and players PC's didn't have to try and track 100's of loot containers floating around their ships). However, you can adjust how much of one particular type of commodity is stored in one container. So if you adjust the number to say 30 for each commodity, upto 210 units will be dropped when the opponant is looted. If you want all loot to be available to be looted, then simply take the amount of cargo space for your largest ship and divide by 7 (rounding off to the nearest whole figure) and use that as your number for the entry.

I don't know if that is some help to people reading this topic.

With the music, if u extract the music as a wav. Then open up sndrec32.exe from the windows/system32 folder.
Next open the file in it and go to properties. Then convert now, click on format, and choose mpeg layer3 codec.
The ones i`ve used are;
Bit rate - 56kbps
Stereo
Sample rate - 24Khz

This should give you a wav file (very small cos of its codec) that freelancer can play.
