.sur problems

I edited the nav_bouy2.cmp file and used it to replace the docking rings in game. I saved the nav_bouy2 as nav_bouy_d so that the original file would remain but now the bouy used for docking doesn't have a .sur file and u can fly through it. I tried copying the nav_bouy2.sur and renaming it to nav_bouy_d.sur but that didn't work. Is there some script command I can use to make a copy of the original and rename it to nav_bouy_d.sur?

Just renaming should do the trick. Here's a couple of ideas to check things -

1. Open your bouy .cmp in HardCMP (use file open NOT double-click on the file) and press 'S' to see the sur file too.

2. Check the object code in the ini and ensure 'phantom_physics = true' is not there.
