Search for tutorials on making infocards and names, I would explain it all here but I don't have time at the moment (sorry). It took me awhile to get it sussed, but now, to me, it's one of the easiest bits of modding.

Hey Azfaloth,
You should get FLEd-ids - it's a great program that lets you edit infocards and names without having to even think hardly
Search for FLEd-ids in the "Downloads" section here on The Larcers Reactor. It probaly will seem hard to figure out at first, but also look for tutorials on how to do this.
***And make SURE your .dll files are NOT Read-Only!! It took me weeks to figure that out. Make them not read-only, then you should be able to use the program to its fullest extent

Hope this helps Good luck, and have fun.

Make sure freelancer isn't running when you try to change them too.. that will prevent your changes from being written to disk.

Actually .. I think you can have FL running when you save stuff - I sometimes will just Tab out of FL and go right to an infocard in FLEd-ids, fix it and save it before I forget. And without exiting game Of course, you have to restart the game in order to see the changes, but it is possible to save stuff when it's going.
But it does not like Read-Only .dll's It will give a dumb "Error: Update resource failed 19" or something like that instead of politely saying " please disable the Read-Only function of the ,dll file. Then save data." ;p

FLExplorer deosn't like anything even related to FL (server included) to be running when it's up. Again, it is possible to have them both going, but Explorer is decidedly
fussy about that.

Another tool to edit dll files is Haventools Resource Tunner
http://www.restuner.com/tour-reseditor.htm

They have a free trial and the license is $39.95 US

This is the program of choice for allot of MOD makers.

Description from the Haventool Website.
If you want to edit an existing resource in your EXE or DLL file, visual editing features let you quickly edit the resources without writing any scripts. Open your file in Resource Tuner and select the dialog resource item to be changed in the Resource Tree view.
All changes made to resources can be watched on the screen and, if you are not satisfied with the result, you can return to the previous state. Any change you make can be restored prior to quitting the editor using the OK button. You also have an option to create a backup copy of the target file (enabled by default). So by no means you can overwrite any important files.
