You can edit the ids' names in order to change active ones, or you can add an entirely new faction to the game. That requires some work, look for it in the tutorial section.

Creating new houses is NOT possible, and even if it would, it would be of no effect.

I suppose you want to show the house when entering the system like this: "NEW BERLIN SYSTEM, RHEINLAND SPACE".

But this is hardcoded and you are not able to create a system and give it to another house, i.e.: "HUDSON SYSTEM, INDEPENDENT SPACE". Here "Independent" would be another house.

You can however rename the existing ones. It is somewhere in resource.dll I suppose.

Did you mean factions stephan? Because you did mention noamds. And for information manhattan, if he want's to create factions, it's very possible. How-ever, if you want to create a system you have to edit who ownes it in order to decide what the name on entry is, for the most part manhattan is right about that second part.

I made some Nomad Systems in one part of Sirius and some Coalition Systems in another one. So I wanted the word NOMAD\COALITION there.

You want to edit the map itself.

Get yourself a UTF editor and a .tga plugin for photoshop (yes you need Photoshop as well) and go to DATA\INTERFACE\NEURONET\NAVMAP\NEWNAVMAP
You want nav_prettymap.3db. Open it in the utf editor and go to Texture library>fancymap.tga. Export MIP0 and save it in .tga format. Open it in Photoshop and edit to your heart's content. Save it, and Import it back into the utf editor. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP FILE.
