Creating custom 3db`s for commodities

Any idea how? I thought that by using an existing one and using utf to change the mip0 texture map and renaming it i would see custom pics. I could get one to work but in the 3db it mentions the tga file that the mip0 was made from and so assumes all other ones are the same. It just gets confused.
Any idea how to have full control over making and controlling 3db`s?

I also use the tut (see nighthounds link above).

Making new commodity icons is a long process, but once you get into it you can rattle them off quite quickly.

A bit of advice on the tut tho. make all the tga's first for your commoditites then you can stay in the utf editor and make the 3db's one after each other. This way, you open up the "master" import the mip, change the refs and then save as the new 3db. its a lot quicker than doing the whole tut each time.

Well, cheers! I have got kinda what I wanted. I did have a go at the crc way but it didn`t wok first time so i just used the spare icons and changed their mip0.
It`ll do for now at least, i`ll probably have a go again when i fancy more brain damage..
