Shield hardpoints!!!

I noticed 2 shields in st_equip.ini are decalred as hp_fighter_shield_generator and hp_elite_shield_generator. I would like to know if I can use those to declare in shiparch.ini, and thus create 2 additional shield classes (would helpful for me because I am restricting shields to certain ships series, so the more classes I can have the better).
So, does the engine handle those just like the other shield classes, so that we have in fact 12 usable shield classes (at least for light and heavy fighters)???

Edit : as a sideline the hp_gun works too for classless weapons (or capship weaps)

That's perfect! I have 12 weapon types now (class 1-10. torpedo 1 and 2) to assign to certain factions, but had only 10 shields. Yay, now I have 11 shield types, exactly how many I need!

But what about that hp_gun? You mean hp_gun is and additional weapon type? Lol.

I can say: WOOT! That gives me more weapon types than I'd need so far.

OK I tried around with them. Which showed me that:

1st hp_turret works as a valid hp_type additionally to the others.
2nd hp_gun makes a gun unmountable and un-unmountable. You can add a gun to the package this way without the ability to remove it. It does not show up in your inventory list, but in space you can use it just like any other gun.
3rd hp_elite_shield_generator seems to fit on any hardpoint. Sad sad, no additional shield class.

In my tests with the nomad-proto gun made to link to hp_gun not hp_gun_special_10 it mounted and unmounted just fine and showed in the list

Weirdly. Well I was thinking that the behaviour of hp_gun I saw was also because this one is used to combine muzzle and barrel of a gun when shooting (in the ammo section: hp_type = hp_gun or so).
