A freelancer from Coalition I need help! please...

newbie here, before reading posted messages for newb, i want to know some basic information about modding:
1: what tools i need if i want to create new systems ? and how should use them?
2: any methods on putting Titan in wherever i want?

so far these 2 questions, i have little knowledge on modding a game... please, if possible, give me more details about modding Freelancer...

first of...welcome to TLR...(enjoy your stay)

Secondly....all the tools are in the DL sections...but as a point of advice...

Download...Freelancer Explorer..a great system creation tool...you can populate bases, add equipment to them and CHANGE add ships to other locations...(that answered number 2 )

Also if you wanna ship edit....the the CMP editor (hardpoint editor)
Building ships...GMAX and Milkshape 3D modling studios...

Final thing you need...LOTS of patience!!!!! Trial and Error thats the ONLY way things get done

also any further questions need to be looked up in the thread in this forum called..."it's got it all!!!!!!"..

Chips put a lot of effort in to that so check it out..you'll find as stated in there...99% of all the modding info you'll ever need!...

You not much of a newbie, most newbies don't know that their are any other forums besdies the FL Discussion forum.

As for your questions:
o Using FL Explorer is good for creating systems because it is very visual, but it has limitation and you may need to edit the files it makes.
o Also, if you want to edit non-system stuff, download the FL SDK. It has all of the FL files unencoded and fixed up for easy modding. Check out the tutorial forum for (guess what..) tutorials!
o Editing dll's are harder and required a untility called FL ids.
o Try downloading other mods to see what they have done and get inspiration from their ideas.

I've played FL for nearly 12 months, it's one of my favourite game, yes! perhaps the NO.1 game that i should vote.
I wonder if Freelancer 2 will be released.... but, still no news from Microsoft.
Here, in Lancersreactor; i saw a lot of friends who have the ability to mod, create, edit a brand new freelancer-like game,
so if someone decides to make Freelancer 2 by themselves, it proves to be a great thing!
I have a new idea on modding original Freelancer: Everytime when i landed on planets. i can go nowhere but Equipment dealer, bar, commodities, etc.
can sb. add a open freelancing mod on planet? That means i can fly in the sky and enjoy the scene on the planet....... perhaps it's gonna be tough. haha
Sorry English isn't my mother ta:, can sb. understand what i mean?


BTW, can i find everything i need from "it's got it all!!!!!!" ?

ok thanks. and..... where is freeport 7 located? in Omicron Systems? i have no idea........
