System Text

Now, I have searched the fourms, with no luck. When I enter my system, it says "Florida System". However, I want it to say "Florida System, Liberty Space" like it does for the rest of the Liberty systems. How do I do this?

OK i think it has something to do with the ids_name = ###### in the DATA/UNIVERSE/universe.ini file. There is a section that allows you to put the same ids_name as in the system ini file. I think that the number you put in the universe.ini file accomodates for your enquiry...in any case it is certainly worth a try.

the system text is held in a string table in resources.dll. I cant see a link between this entry and universe.ini tho so It may be hardcoded

I know that it can be done; in Freeworlds, when you enter Coruscant, it says "Caruscant System, Core Worlds." So, Freeworlds team, could you help me out here?

well there they have replaced the LIBERTY text entry in resources.dll with the CORE WORLDS text and the Coruscant system is LI01, so it would work ok for them.

Yeah, it's hardcoded somewhere.

Then why do some people enter a system and it says "..., Rhineland Space"? And, if it is hardcoded, how do I change it? All I need to do is make it say "Florida System, Liberty Space". If Microsoft can do it, I should be able to as well.

its hardcoded because all the std main systems rh01, rh02 etc point to one of the 4 entries in resources dll, how I'm not sure.
