No, Victor and Bobway once tried it, and FLserver then thought the according player names were in use, but the chars unavailable. This is because the file "names" are generated out of the personal Multiplayer ID AND (!) the server ID, in a way that is not really understood so far. ALl you could do is let players make new chars and give them the same amount of cash, equipment etc...
