help needed with hardpoints

Hi all,
First off I searched and searched all of the forums and been at this problem for quite some time..

I made a mod of a ship which has 10 gun/missile hardpoints, 2 torpedo and 2 turret hardpoints. It works if I only mount 6 guns but as soon as I mount 8 or 10 guns the game crashes bigtime.

Can anyone tell me what I'm screwing up so I can fix it. If I get this up and running, I'll post the mod but not before this problem is fixed.... I don't work for Microsoft :-D

Did you edit how many hardpoints are actually on the ship with a UTF editor? Becasue if you didnt then that is why it will crash. Probably putting a gun on a hardpoint that doesnt exist or a hardpoint that is alredy in use!

do the hardpoint entries in shiparch reference directly to the hardpoints in your cmp? discard what aravis said, you do not need to use utf to create hardpoints. try using harrier's hardpoint tutorial (you can most likely find it in downloads), it comes with a hardpoint example...it should do you some good

yes the cmp hardpoints are used in shiparch.ini to define what class of weapons can be mounted on them
