Lights that blink in sequence

Is there any way to do this?

I know all about the avg_delay fields and such - but I'd REALLY like to get the lights to blink in unison, or at least in a controllable sequence.

Anyone know how?

I have seen some blink in unison and some blink in link. The same time, they change, ie random. That would be interesting if it can be done.
