Quick Question

I'm currently working on my first mod and it's not as hard as I thought. Easy question for you vets, because I've seen it done in other mods before:

Which market.ini do you add engines onto?

I've already added powerplants, the hidden scanner, and tractor beam to my bases easily enough, but those items had their corresponding market.ini ( i. e. misc_equip, misc_good, market_misc). However, for engines there is the engine_equip.ini and the (blank) engine_good.ini but there is no obvious market.ini for engines. Did you just add them to the market_misc.ini?

Also, I was planning to just use the same format as I did for powerplants on the engine_good.ini, since the engines themselves are already defined on the engine_equip.ini (much like powerplants were defined elsewhere). Is that correct?

P.S. I've done extensive reading on the tutorials here and the answer was not found. The topics on engines here just ends with people saying it's pointless because they cannot be purchased or sold, which I believe is quite out of date since I've seen it done in mods.

Did you just add them to the market_misc.ini?
YES

for market there`s just the 3:
-commodities
-misc
-ships

Thanks, Rimshot. I'll test it that way and see if they buy/sell.

Chips, I read most of the tutorials several times, but if you look at the 'Make bases sell engines' tutorial it is over a year old and ends with more recent posts saying engines are pointless because you cant sell them. Thanks, anyway though.

it is true they can`t be sold .. don`t know if there`s a fix for this, but at least you can dump them in space ..
