A new Mod

Hi everyone, i was just thinking the other day, that freelancer is such a good game but we could extend it so much more *hence the experienced modders out there* but i was thinking, to extend what freelancer has already got in a new mod, ie enable all npc ships and capital ships, but keep the damages the way they where in SP, here is what i was thinking

:New ships for purchase, all faction gunboats/cruisers/battleships
:passive ships like trains, ect for sale if you dont want to fight but trade
:Capital ship encounters, but rare cases and they acctually have places to go not dissapear
:perhaps new bases or systems
:weapons arnt overpowered ie a cruiser main gun doing 100000 damage, and the prices being realistic not too low/high
:gun turrets are npc turrets for instance the train turrets that do 80 damage and have a 2.00 refire rate isntead of custom ones, and only some modification to battleship ones
:fighters fly in formation with capital ships and make for good attack squadrans
:some advanced missions have heavy ship reinforcements to complete it, ie a reinland gunship and a squadron of fighters will help you on a very tough reinland mission

this would make freelancer realistic not overpowered with some of the mods that are out, just makes freelancer the way it is ment to be

if anyone wants to help me with this mod or if a similar mod is already out, please post here, im sure we could do some great work if ppl helped with it, we would need a few skilled ppl to do this though, if you would like to help i welcome u to help, also post any comments about it/advice

i like we could make something pretty good

I could probably help what experience do you have? I can do system making via FLE, ship modeling and scripting, and weapons texting. by the way this post should be in the mod announcement forum.

Thats cool, we need to get some more ppl b4 we can start but i think we can do it if we get enough support, ill edit the .ini files ect, im still learning u know , but ur help is welcomed

interesting... I'm a bit occupied at the moment, but it sounds like somethin new. I'll be sure to help test it before release if u need a hand there. I always enjoy finding where ppl screw up - jk

i think just us two could do the mod
i can do ship modeling and texting, system making, and text editing(mainly weaps)
you can do ini's
i think that'll be enough to do a mod.

Yeah sounds good, we should get started then and star can test it, but it would be nice to have another person to get it done a bit quicker, have you got msn?, add me at [email protected], we will have to update most/if not all the systems so it will take a while, but yea we can do it cant wait to get started, if any1 else wants to help ur welcome though, but we are starting now

I am one of the leaders of DA - Digital Architects - and i think u should post about your mod on our forum, as a lot of members arent actually working on a mod at the moment - like tightan - and u could see if anyone else wants to help u

thx m8 ill post there, just be nice to have a mod where everything is balanced and the way it should b if there was an expansion, glad some ppl think its a good idea
