Someone please help me get the Flying Saucer mod to work? Ma

Hi everyone. I have downloaded the Flying Saucer mod from http://www.lancersreactor.com/t/downloa ... asp?id=855 but I am having problems with it.

I would like to be able just to start a new sp game without the campaign and use it. Now by default, the ship is supposed to be available from three bases, none of which are in Liberty.

If I edit the script.xml file adding more "<data file="data\equipment\market_ships.ini" method="sectionreplace> <section>[BaseGood base = Ku03_03_base</section>" (etc.) sections to specify the bases in Liberty that sell ships, the mod still activates, but when I start the game the ship isn't available there.

If I do not edit the script, but instead use OpenSP at the same time as Flying Saucer (ignoring FLMod's warnings) the ship is not even available at those three bases.

Would someone please look at the script for flying saucer and tell me what to do? It's a short script.

Thanks in advance. Best wishes.

Edit one of the entries to look like this...
Don't forget to add the left facing bracket to BaseGood

<data file="data\equipment\market_ships.ini" method="sectionreplace">
<section>
[BaseGood
base = Li01_01_baseIw04_01_base
</section>
<dest>
marketgood = gf2_package, 4, -1, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1
</dest>
<source>
marketgood = FlyingSauser_package, 1, -1, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1
</source>
</data>

Hi,

Thanks for the effort. It didn't work for me. I tried changing "Li01_01_baseIw04_04_base" to just "Li01_01_base" but that didn't make any difference. I gather that Li01_01 refers to the planet Manhatten, right?

Just wondering, am I the only one having trouble running the Flying Sauser mod? I've had no trouble running many other mods.

Any other advice is very appreciated.

Best wishes

<data file="data\equipment\market_ships.ini" method="sectionappend">
<section>
[BaseGood
base = Li01_02_base
</section>
<source>
marketgood = FlyingSauser_package, 1, -1, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1
</source>
</data>

the above code will add the ship to pittsbergh. i hvnt checked if it will work, just copy and paste it to the end of script.xml before </script>

by the way dont use chips sp after you have activated the FLying sauser mod. chips sp is suppossed to add new ships so in the same place in market_ship.ini it will have another code to replace the FS mod code -so you dont find the flying sauser at the bases .[This applies for any mod activated after another which are incompatible!!.. try using this save game file. it has the campaign completed.

Thanks for the advice! I never tried loading my own saved games to get the flying saucer, because of all the warnings FLMod and this site give about removing saved games from their normal directory before trying a mod. (One would almost think the computer would explode!) Well, I reloaded the original Flying Saucer mod and it worked with the saved game you suggested, and my own saved games. It would be nice if I could use this vehicle with other mods (Open SP was not the only mod it didn't work with), but this will do. Thanks!

Best wishes.
