Please help me!!!
I was not able to fix the problem, although I tried it the last week. If there is anyone, who can at least give me a small hint, I would be very grateful!
I have really no idea, why some parts of the model are brown, if I'm in space. On planets or bases the whole ship has the new texture (I changed it a bit, but everything works, if I'm on bases or planets)!

And there are also the other problems, that I could not solve! Please help!
Thanks to everyone!!!

Black Eagle...

The Texture panel (k_panel_selfillum02.dds) which has the small white dots on it is used as a self illuminating texture and will commonly have a 'gs' switch and a series of entries in that file that turn part of the texture 'on' giving certain panels the appearance of lights... I wish I knew how it worked... not that that helps you much....there is a great deal in the texture files that no-one knows much about.

Have you tried using the kasdias texture guide..... and editing the textures..

Can be downloaded Here

Thanks Harrier!

I will try the texture guide!

Anyone, who knows something else about my questions (As you see it is not only about skinning and powerplants!)
Thanks

Thanks again Harrier!

But I still can't get the whole ship black, when I'm in space. I now changed all of the dds files in the ku_playerships.ini (also these of the normal Kusari ships). I also changed all of the material library entries with Dc node to have a dark grey color.
If I'm on a planet or a base the skin is exactly as I want it. But if I start some parts of the ship (As I said it is the Legionnaire) have the normal brown color and not the new one. This happens to the tail wing (on the Legionnaire only this small thing, which is the cutted version of the Titans tail wing) and to the front of the side wings.
I have no idea, why this happens and what to do to fix this problem!
Is there any other file or something I have to change?

Please help me (also with my other questions)!!! Thanks!

have you fixed your problem with having visible engines but having them purchaseable at bases?

No capitalmerc! I'm affraid, but I did no longer work on this, because I want to release the next version of my mod in the next week.

But maybe I will come back to this problem if I'm working on the third version. I got some ideas, but I have to try them out, so please ask other modders that are more experienced than me!

Regarding moveable powerplants.
I am working on a modification to Chip's excellent Evolutions 1.28 (strictly for use amongst our local gaming group). I wanted to add an alternate upgradeable power system which can be added on to ships for an exorbitant cost. Kind of like adding a turbo charger or intercooler system to a car. Anyway Some of the upgrades are intended to be useable on fighters and others on freighters etc. To do this I gave the powerplants a volume greater than zero, this has been done many times in a number of mods but I made mine highly restrictive. The basic light fighter in this mod has 10 cargo, hf/vhf have 15 or so and supremes have 18 cargo.
So my basic upgrade takes ten cargo, the next takes 18 and from there on up they are far too large for the fighters.
So basically the player has the option to mount a power upgrade above and beyond those which are intrinsic to most of the ships and thus lose most or all of his cargo space, or he/she can do without and still be able to pick up loot.

This somewhat solves the problem as it makes it impossible to mount a larger powerplant on a smaller vessel however it is very restricive and rather granular as doing more than a few such powerplants would require redsigning the cargo settings extensively.

Hope this helps at least a little

Thanks crymson!
I thought of this already, but I don't want the player to lose their cargospace. So this will not solve the problem, I'm affraid. But thanks anyway!
