Addition of a Black Hole

Anyone thought about creating a black hole for the freelancer universe?
It would make open space a little more dangerous!!

I don't think they managed to make it suck you in though, it only damages you if you go too close of your own volition (or poor flying)

could n e 1 make a black hole that sucks you in a spurts you out in a random system! that would be amazin. you could place bets

maybe you could use the constant.ini file to make it do it.

if people could make the black hole release you in a "random" system... the hyperdrive would be possible....the coding would have to be a randomizing jumphole with a trigger to allow the player to enter WITHOUT docking with the hole.

And as far as i know triggers only work in story missions....now, you could make a story mission with a trigger making the black hole suck the player into it and then give the hole the comments to which system it spits you out in...sadly though...it would not be random for the sake of scripting.....If we could get the source code....then it would be possible....but as of now...it is almost impossable.....but hey give it a shot ya never know it might work.

A little old of a post.

Here's you an alternate. Edit the effects of a jump hole, ie use the black hole, and have it "jump" you to a far distant system. One way only!

I don't know how the game handles conflicts, but if you had many jumpholes occupying almost the same space with the same name (eg Black Hole), the hole would take you to a random place each time, as you wouldn't know which one you'd targeted.

Actually, have one black hole in a system, like NY and have it dump you in the unknown system. Usining a jump hole set up. Like the in game one south of Manhatten that jumps in the badlands and has an outlet, but you can not jump back. Hmmm?
