Tougher AI for Encounters

Hey everyone a simple but probobly complex question like so many others, i have been noticing that the AI for enemy ships in freelancer is well rather one sided,
IE. when you pass a fight the opposing faction forgets to attack the forces they were once in combat with and target YOU!!

i was wondering if there was a way to actually change the AI to basically make them a little more human like? or atleast keep em fighting who they were supposed to be fighting and not always have beef with you.....this maybe covered somewhere but i have yet to find it....(probobly i am a moron ) but a little insight would be greatly appreciated.
