Creating .mat files

Hi All.

I am a Newbie Modder /Ship Designer-Creator /etc but I have a problem.
I have heard Conflicting veiw on what is needed in the .mat file.
One said you need only the same amount of textures per library, and others say that you need a branch for every Grouping per library.

In short:
Cause somone please tell me what you need to do to make a .mat file. I do have the UTF Editor and please please keep it simple.

N.B. - I used Milkshape to create the model, Shipscripter to create the .ini files and the .xls for FLMM

(P.S. - If this has been answered before then sorry)

It's eyes were completly devoid of life,
Empty Orbs that took in the world with an unfeeling gaze,
Only one thing ever brought a spark of vitality,
To the eyes of this Tortured Soul:
The Suffering of others.

The easiest way to get the .mat file correct is to use the MilkShape .MAT exporter plugin. It's here on the site, just search for it. I've used it for all of my ships and (once I get all the script work correct) they show up just fine in game.
