A totaly newbie question here?

I am interested in learning how to make a decent mod.
However seeing that i will be completely new to modding anything, I will need it explained to me in a way that even a complete moron/idiot coould understand.

Welcome.
Go right up to the top of the forum and read the post titled PLEASE READ!!!.
After that go to the newbies questions threads that are linked in that thread and read in there. Your best bet is to immediately download and run Freelancer SDK from the EOA forum about 6 or 7 down from this one. It makes things much easier to understand. If you get stuck start using the search function. If that doesn't work post again and someone will help you. Good luck.
