mods and lag

hello , my mod was running on a very good computer with a very stable connection when we were testing it.
now, the dude running the server and I were experiencing allot of lag.
I have cable and the other dude has some better connection then cable (dunno what this is)

now , could this be the mod , and if so , what are the causes

this "dude" probably has DSL (Wireless)...

Well, cable can actually screw up if there is alot of traffic on your street, its not usually the mod, unless its a pretty big one and you're running it Server Side (meaning, the server owner has the mod activated and you don't).

Otherwise, be sure to close programs like MSN or ICQ, etc...as they can produce one heck of a lag...

well , i have allot of traffic in the weekend so my connection is a bit slower.
them mod itself isn't that big at the moment. only 1 meg but it has allot of equipment at 1 place
