Grab yourself Freelancer Explorer, it makes altering anything to do with systems a piece of cake

Double click on a system (don't right click and select Edit) to go to a system view. Right click where you want your gate/hole and select "jumphole/gate start". Double click again to get back to the universe view. Repeat in the destination system, only select "jumphole/gate end"

what files do i then transfer to flmm format?

ie if i added a gate to new york (li01) which files do i need to make sure are in an flmm mod file?

There should be a "save changes in a new mod" option on one of the menus in FL explorer, I can't remember exactly where it is right now though. That should save it in .flmod format, so that you can use FLMM to turn your changes on/off

Using zip - just right click and then select the "add to zip file....whatever the name is. Then it says something like Blahblah.zip - merely add .flmod afterwards - and it zips it up as an flmod!!! Neat huh?

probably my final problem with this, i have overwritten my server files with my jump holes etc from explorer. i can see them, they are named etc. and apparently connect. yet when i try to dock, i get told dock denied

I am running the mod client side and server side, so where did i mess up and suddenly not be allowed to dock with the jump hole?

edit: never mind, fixed it i didnt restart the server
