you are sure that the path to the FL (or mod that has a dll) directory is right?

yes it goes to my FLMM/ EXE directory and displayes what's in there in the dropdown to the right.

Works fine when I set the path to the freelancer/EXE directory but thats not what I want to edit.

for editor .. the number of the error is not 19 ???
check if your dll is not in read only !!!! when i have obtain this problem, that's was the solution .... the dll must be in archive .. but FLmod manager pass all in read only ...

Post Fri Apr 16, 2004 5:30 am

I don't think this is the case becuase the file was zipped when I downloaded it from this site 'Empty.DLL' and should not be read only. Will check anyway just in case.

I'm using 'FL-IDS' and the 'explorer tutorial'. It's not v good though, scetchy and skips important things.

If it's working fine going to your Freelancer EXE folder then just stick your new dll in there and edit. Then take the dll out and put it where you want it. What's the issue here?

Have you got the Freelancer.ini file INSIDE your mods EXE folder? That is the main reason for loadout errors, that and missing dl files (if you type in 66666 for example, you will need the infocards.dll file in that folder and the freelancer.ini file in that folder. The tool cannot edit a thing without the Freelancer.ini file, and its in consecutive entries in this file. Hence if you have your new one at the top of the dll list, your numbers will be from 1 to around 65000 or somethign like that. If you put it after the last one, the numbers will be 460000 or so to start with. If in doubt, put all the dll files listed (all six of them) into your exe folder for the mod along with the Freelancer.ini file. Then edit that file and add your new dll file (you can rename it to whatever - like spannermonkey.dll - as long as the reference in the freelancer.ini file then points to spannermonkey.dll as well ). Now get to work, as you will have the dll files as templates to use to make adding info to your new dll about 100 times faster

Thanks for taking the time Chips. Much appreciated :-)

What ive done is copied all the dll's (40 files)from the freelancer\EXE folder into my mods folder and it seems to be working. Will have to delete them one by one until I find whats wrong.

It's odd that it did'nt work with only my ini file and 'my.dll' in that directory. I put the ini refferance after everything else and use 460000 like it said in the tutorial. Should be straght forward. Odd.

FLEd-ids isnt ur name woops. Damn cut n paste.

Post Sat Apr 17, 2004 8:44 am

U didn't seem to read Chips. All u need to do is copy the freelancer.ini to your mods /exe directory and it'll work.

Post Sat Apr 17, 2004 9:12 am

I did read chip's post and I had already copied the freelancer.ini file into my mods dir as explained in the tutorial. Working now though although still don't know why FLEd-ids needed those extra files to work.

Thought I only needed:

mymod\EXE freelancer.ini
my.dll

Ummm.
