It would be interesting to see how far down on the z-axis you can go....

I dont think there is a limit on z axis. Ive alwasy hated stuff on the same plane. Ive been making stuff at different hights so you have to (new concept coming up poeple ) LOOK AROUND ive made a Jumpgate to my new system 15 ks above manhattan along with a new base. As for the limit? I dont think there is one. casue if you enable you cruise engines over night set a couse WAYYYYYYYYYY out of the system you can go far. Ive gone so far i couldnt see the sun. Of course then your ship wobbles like hell, but Im not sure of docking capabilities. I have screenshots if you want them, although i can only deliver on monday as I am in Texas right now. But i could install FL and do it again if you like

aravis, where did u get that picture. i play halo and thats hilarious, but, on the subject matter, i dont thinlk that having something on the z axis would be good for autopilot. it dosent use the z axis. Go almost to the top of a planet, for example, manhattan, select rochester, maneuver to the other side of the planet so the planet is between u and rochester, the hit "Go To". IT goes around on the latitude plane.

Versoth,

Why people reopen dead threads is still a mystery to me...why you even have your preferences set to display stuff from this far back...I will never understand it completely. For future reference...dont reopen threads this old, all it does is increase the spam in the forums.

If you read up on physics, you will notice that as star systems and galaxies spin, they form a disk with most of the celestial objects lining up with the plane of spin. Did you know that as the earth rotates it has a greater diameter at the equator than at the poles. My only gripe in this area is how the various systems relate to each other on the Nav Map, but then again you aren't going to be flying around in interstellar space anyway.

notofsoundmind, check the dates please. This is a 8 or 9 month old thread. Its grave digging and not allowed. You need to find a newr thread to post in, please.
