skins, how to change character costumes

I have checked the newbie catch-all posts and done some searches, but somehow cannot find out how to change the costume from one character in the game to another. i.e. change Juni's clothes to a pirate girl's clothes. Please direct me to the right post
Also, If I change the skin, and run a mod but do not play multiplayer, will the mod crash, interpreting the change as a cheat?

Changing the costumes of players in the game is actually very simple. All you need to do is edit the costumes.ini file in the Characters folder so that the inted character has the desired clothing.

There's also a small exe hosted here called FLCedit or FreeLancer Character Editor. This program allows you to change the heads and costumes of Trent, Juni, King, Tobias, Orillian, Quintaine, and Sinclair & then save them to either your own save game file or the costumes.ini file. Please note that while all male bodies are compatible with all male characters and all female bodies are compatible with all female characters, not all heads are compatible with all characters, but you're just going to have to try them out and see for yourself.

Thanks guys
I fololowed your advice and the changes are good.

The FLCedit program works great, but the readme file needs updated, it gives some misleading information for changing a character other than trent. You do NOT have to save the change to a saved game. I play with mods, and if you do this it crashes the game after a while. Changes work without doing this for non- trent changes.

Master Revan Does you rmod change other uniforms also? Did you make your own skins or are they game skins?

Thanks

Not all heads are compatible with all bodies....Hmm...
That explains the br_kaitlyn_head problem...whenever I put it on someone, it doesn't show up...I walk in the bar and talk to a headless woman!
