mods don't make ships :p they are made in programs such as 3ds, g-max, ms3d, lwo, or .c4d

Yes, you need a program like the fore mentioned, but also Milkshape, because at this present point in time its the only one that can export as a CMP file (using a plugin). You can download Milkshape, by going to here. There is an excellent tutorial by Drizzla on making ships, but he uses G-max or 3dsmax i think, which is free, and then imports it to milkshape for conversion to CMP. Milkshape has a fully funcioning 30 day free trial, and only costs about 20 dollars to buy, which is WELL worth it. However, try the tutorial (contains links to software) and build a ship. Once done then get milkshape so you can make the most of its free trial

I have a shipmodel made, I just need to know how to add skin and code it.

Drizzlas tutorial will tell you how then. It covers it all - just skip to where the model is made and imported into milkshape. It goes through hardpoints and basic skinning i think. If not, Harrier has created a tutorial (see tutorials forum) for a tutorial on textures/skinning.

Does it cover the jets and afterburner? Sorry, I downloaded it but I don't have Adobe Reader, yet.

Sorry for the double post, but I don't really get the Hardpoint section. Could somebody clarify it please.
