Giving ships pilots

Now don't go mental at me if this has already been posted before, because I searched and searched on these forums with no luck.I have given the Hessians Bretonian gunboats and thrown them in the Fort Bush area to fight the High-level bounty hunters that I have placed there.(Don't ask, I just felt like doing it). But the Hessians have a problem, instead of pilot names they have 'Object unknown'. For future reference, how do you make sure they have randomly generated names?

for random generated names look at the faction_props.ini...

Now for not appearing (Object Unknown), try checking your spelling...

They're appearing it's just instead of their pilot name it comes up with 'object unknown'.

hmm - maybe ids info is incorrect for them (do you mean when you click on them and scan you get unknown - or does it say Bretonian Gunboat - little confused here

*edit* - read it again, suspect you need to go to the faction_props.ini file

pilots names/Ships designations.. - perhaps this is a clue:

Red Hessians in faction_prop.ini file:
firstname_male = 228008, 228207
lastname = 228408, 228663
rank_desig = 197086, 197087, 197088, 11, 15
formation_desig = 197808, 197820

Bretonian (who have large ships) navy:
firstname_male = 227308, 227410
firstname_female = 227508, 227575
lastname = 227708, 228007
rank_desig = 197011, 197012, 197013, 8, 10
formation_desig = 197808, 197820
large_ship_desig = 196978
large_ship_names = 202708, 202747

The USS Brandt? Create your own custom ones....the first number is the start, and teh seond one is the end - so from 202708 to 202747 is all large ships names, they have 39 names to choose from.

Thanks a bunch for that info. Although I ended up giving them pirate names and ranks instead of USS or whatever is it that normally goes in front.
