Your own voice in the game!

i have just had a thought, i am a rookie at modding but i think that my idea is possible, im not sure if you already knew, you probly did if i did lol, ok here it is... i was thinking that you could have your own voice in the game, as trent all you would need to have is a microphone and able to record your voice, and know what trent says (obviously) then just record your voice for example when trent says "have you got anything for me?" you record that and save it as the same name as what ever that file is called, and because there all in the same music file it could be possible, i have done this with one of my games , baldurs gate II (good rpg)
so to those expert modders is this possible? is there anything else i need to do?thanks

I think it may be possible, but there are more things than that to it I think. I tried substituting some of the in game music with files of my own, but it didn't work. I think the files a) have to be .wav format and b) be the same recording quality ie bps etc

Yes, its alot harder than you think for some parts. See quickshots website, where he has a tutorial on how he did this, although i think it first appeared in the Rebalance mod.

A clue for finding quickshots website is to find his terra empire mod in downloads, where you shoudl be able to find a link to his site

you can change the voices of trent and other morons in the SP campain did it myself so if i decline a mision there i her F*** ***

I myself made my Freelancer bakcground music an archive of my mp3s.
I hope I never have to do it again.
took me a long time to convert all those mp3s and rename em.
