O.k. - I've made my own ship and, following the tutorial, I put it in the game...

It shows up on Manhattan's shipdelaers, but it is invisible?! NOw, I've checked the texture - it IS a verticaly flipped 32bit uncompreses 512x512 tga..

I?ve put all in a zip file so if someone can take a look for me..

The file (690kb) includes:
-Milkshape model (textured, with hardpoints)
-cmp file
-mat file
- vertically flipped texture (to view it in Milkshape it will have to be flipped again)
- all INI entry files + files for a gun

have you tried buying it?

the reason it won't be visible at the ship dealers is probly to do with LOD ranges, i will have a look at it for you because im a kind person

well i've had a quick look at it and the main problem i can see is the LOD ranges:

in shiparch.ini the line that says 'LODranges' has three numbers where as player created ships should only have 2 (because of the cmp exporter), so delete the middle value. it should be fine when you launch anyway.

O.k. - now there's only LOD0 left.
Still doesn't show pu at the dealers..ANd I can't purchase it - sez it requires lvl 30. What determines the lvl requirements?

Allso, what do I have to do to change Trent's hair colour (edit his skin)?

Also, making LOD ranges 999999 helps as well, leaving it the same might still cause problems. So delete middle LODranges as pSy said, but make the one that is left 999999

well duh..market_ships.ini
click edit then click find; type in Li01_01 and whatever ship u have...lets say it is:
marketgood = abc_package, 30, -1, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1
the number 30 there indicates that u have to be level 30 to purchase it, change that to what you desire

I just bought the ship....When I flew around with it, I saw it was DEFINATELY too small...the only thing I could see were guns flying around!

So if somebody would please explain to me just how the scale in the CMP Exporter works? if it's set to 100 does it keep the ship in it's original size, or does it scale it down 100%?

Allso, I imported a liberty elite in Milkshape and scaled my fighter to match it's size...something is very screwy here!

Well....I was right..the scale in Milkshape is good...Once I set the scale in CMP Exporter to 1 the ship turned out the right size, alltough the texture does not show (the ship is invisible!)

Now, the texture shows up under materials in Milkshape (I can' hardly see it in the 3D View, it's so damn dark and I haven't found a way to brighten it up).

Could it be the mat file?

It goes like this:

- PhoenixFLTexture
- PhoenixFLTexture.tga

- texture library

i see your problem, the mat file is wrong

it should be

/
material library
PhoenixFLtexture
Dt_name (inside this is the data "PhoenixFLTexture.tga@)
Type (inside this is the data "DcDt"
texture library
PhoenixFLtexture.tga
MIP0 or MIPS (inside this should be your texture file (imported))

ARGH!!!

Just nozice something... I zoomed the cmara in Milkshape and entered the model...it was textured FROM INSIDE!! WHERE IS THE FLIP ALL NORMALS BUTTON HERE????

DArn.....Darn...I'm getting crazy!

EDIT: FOUND IT! Now re-exporting the thing!

EDIT2: THe ship was perfectly textured in Milkshape...I exported it and used a new .mat file... Still invisible!!!!!

Fixed the Hp problem (I named the Hp/Fixed/Mine01 instead of Hp/Fixed/HpMine01), scaled it the right side and exported again.

Allso, I double checked the mat file (it shows to a 1024x1024 uncompressed tga texture...24bpp..16.7 mil colors)..
Now the game chrashes when I go to the shipdealers..

NOTE: If I have 4 engine exhausts, I must name each engine Hp with a different number, right? (Hp/Fixed/HpEngine01, then 02...)
