How do you add new names to the game?

I am more or less new to editing Freelancer. (Although I have a sparse command of programming.) I have looked through all the Forums and no-one has actually said how to add new names to the game.
I was told it had something to do with .dll files but I don't know how to edit them either.
Can anyone explain how you add custom names to Freelancer

Yes I can,
You need to look at this guys tutorial he explains the fine nuances of Infocards which is the item to which I believe you are inquiring to.

Great tutorial however you will need to ask around a bit to find out how to do this for any other thing than a ship. though the basics still apply. If anyone with more experience can add more to this please do as I am having the name problem too but for weapons is there a place that I can get templates for weapons, commodities, engines, and other such stuff?

This new Tutorial made by Chips that was posted on 1/7 is a simple, easy, and uncomplicated IDS Tutorial about making infocards (information cards) including 11 pictures along with the IDSTUTORIAL.html (an HTML Document).
