Hidden ships in Freelancer that are waiting to be unlocked?

I recently had the rumor passed on to me that there are ships that were built into Freelancer but were never released. It seemes to make sense because how else would you account for the fact that there are class 10 L/F and freighter sheilds yet no L/F or Freighters that could support them?

So are there hidden ships? And if so...can they be unlocked via mods?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

there is one i know of and it is called the starblazer. it has the cmp the mat and the complete sur files which are located at FREELANCER\DATA\SHIPS\CIVILIAN\STARBLAZER I think... Now the only thing lacking is its shiparch declarations and marketships.ini declaration as well as it goods.ini declaration.

it is actually the vhf of the starflyer family

btw... almost every one knows this.... hehehehe

There is also the li_elite2, the ku_dragon and some things like that. The Li_elite2 is the defender with the tail, NOT the same as teh anubis, looks much nicer, and the ku_dragon is the same as ku_elite, but with higher gun classes. They aren't hidden at all in fact. I think stuff was made, but then was left out - probabily due to balancing problems or something. Class 10 light fighter would just own everything!

li_elite2 is the ship used by Juni
ku_dragon i think is the one used by the Blood Dragon
CSV - Combat Service Vehicle

actually they're all there but are not buyable in FL you can make them buyable. Just looka at their corresponding packages in ggods.ini. If there is no packages there. then create one. Take note they must conform with the ship's stat in shiparch.ini

The starblazer is actualy used in freelancer. But not in space. On some planets you can see one zip past in the backround with the rest of the traffic.
