Star Wars Music Mod

Greetings. I am still around, I've just been keeping a low profile . I was wondering if I should create a mod that replaces the music in FL with everybody's favourite from music from Star Wars. This raises two questions though;

1. Has it been done? And,
2. Is it worth doing?

Please post if you would be interested in the aforementioned mod, as I wish to assess interest before beginning work. This thread is especially aimed at those of you who cruise the forums and never post. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Go for it! It's a cool idea!

You're in the bar, listening to the Cantina tune. Or you're out in Corsair territory, with rogues on you tale, and you have the Imperial theme. It'd be heaps better than the normal ingame stuff!

I don't think it's been done before. I saw one that claimed to, but it only added the opening theme.

Thank you, I hadn't actually considered altering the bar music, mainly the in space music. Mmm, that's a very interesting idea. Imagine having some Mos Eisley music at Corsair bases and the music from Jabba's palace at Outcast and/or Liberty Rogue bases. Think of the possibilities.

Gee, don't everyone post at once.

Well, I guess that answers that. I was going to do it anyway, however I have run into a problem; in order to have good quality music, the tracks that I have selected total 30 meg (zipped). If I compress them anymore, they will sound awful. Oh well... I guess that's lossy compression for you.

Good news! (If anybody cares :'(). I have acquired the "Original Star Wars Anthology Sound Track" collection conducted by John Williams and performed by the London Syphony Orchestra. Because of this, the mod is back on. Subject to the quality of MP3 conversion of course. I'll let you know what's happening.

Ok. It's done. I'm playing through FL now in order to test it. I am making a preliminary version (1.0) available tomorrow morning (Australian time) if anybody wants to download and try it out and, of course, give me some feedback.

Here it is. Try the following link and give me some (constructive) feedback.

I should probably mention that the mod is just under 10 meg. Sorry, but if I increase the compression any more, then the music will sound REALLY average. I apologise to modem users. I'm one as well. By the way, if you have requests, suggestions and/or feedback, there is a thread in the "MOD Announcement Forum".
