Noobie searching for the right mod...

1. I'm a complete noobie to FL (coming from the HW universe) and would like some sugestions as to where I can find a mod that will change the FL environment (such as special effects, background graphics etc.) WITHOUT changing the gameplay in anyway. I have not yet made my way through the whole game yet, and would like to finish it first (if there is such a thing) before the real modding begins.

2. Is there a MUST HAVE mod thread or list somewhere for those just getting started with FL.

suggest you try the forums dealing with mods as most of the info is there
