Adding custom Icons ???

Hi just wondering If some one could shed some light on this for me.
I have made a New Commodity complete with custom name and info,
but am now stuck on how to give it its own icon in the game.

Ive made the icon and converted it to .tga format but i was wondering if there is
a set file size or how to make a new .3db file for it???
I tried copying one then importing my .tga file into it but in game it just crashes when you go to the commodity trader screen?
I think that had somthing to do with the VmeshLibrary still having a node pointing to the old commodity.
Please help as ive looked every where for a tutorial on this but have so far come up empty handed.

The quick and dirty way is as follows

copy the .3db of any icon and rename your texture to the one in the 3db i.e rh_elite.tga import and save, now all you do is rename that .3db to something new example "myicon.3db" then make sure in your ini that it points to your new "myicon.3db"

it takes only a minute or two, very dirty methd, if you find the icon in game is transparent then you need to change the alpha channel in your .tga

Do not use icons 3dbs of exisiting ships, it will not work. use commodity 3db icon files for reference
