Ship Icons available to view

This is the First posting of the ship icons I could find.
I will add more as I find them.
Then I might cross reference to the mod there in.

Suggestions welcome, just keep in mind I did not make these icons the ship builder did and deserves the credit. I just compilled them in one thumbnail page.

Its for ideas, its for those that post for ship to made when it already is, its for whatever. LOL

I just wanted to see who makes icons for ships and to see all different ships out there waiting to be played.

By the way just added 44 more including Freelancer originals ships.

Chips had asked a while back for some icons, so I made a few. I should get back to making them. I could not figure out how to convert them, so they are only in jpg

i tried creating icons for fl. using the tutorial. There is something wrong with it.
i have 5 ships. I used one template file, bh_fighter.3db for all of them, Renamed the file for their corresponding ships. imported the tga's in that MIP0 under that texture. That's the only alteration i did. So when i played fl and look at my ships in the ship dealer, they all have the same icon... i used my phantom for testing... so the phantom's icon is in all of them. Now when i go to my other base where i sell my other ships, now the icon disappears and replaced by the BH_fighter icon. What do you think is the problem

hey firebase,

the problem occurs becaues all you icons have the same vmesh reference i think.

easiest way round it (without remaking the vmeshref) is to use a different original icon file for every ship. the best ones to use are the ones that never got implemented in freelancer (wierd commodities, engines and armour upgrades etc) as they never turn up at any bases and therefore avoid the problem.

wish id figured that out before i made mine to be honest

I think you can delete all the vmesh info in an icon file.

I just copied my cmp file deleted some nodes and added the ones I needed,
Then I imported my tga icon file and it seems to work just fine.

Well I and my Brother, have started to make the replacing mod for "Bobways Server Mod", and were looking for any donations or help for the ships side of things. Ofcourse if you help/give anything you will be given all rights over your work, and can retract the work again at anytime. Also you will be thanked for your help.
