How Do You Change or Alter A Planetscape?

During the game I landed on Honshu. I was admiring the Planetscape scene backdrop of the hills when I noticed that the buildings were actually layered on instead of part of the actual backdrop. Is it possible to alter, intermix, or shuffle a planet scene, or deck scene for that matter? As in, create new scenes from bits and pieces from other scenes. I have looked into the planets' planetscape files directly and I only noticed being able to change the Flashlighting.

I don't think planetscapes can be altered, but I would like to know more if I'm wrong.

I got the impression that it could. I looked at the files and the way they were written seemed that a shuffle here or there might be it. However, not knowing what is what and where, it could take weeks to sort it out...(...in spare time that is, RL has a tendency to mess with fun time...

) Just thought perhaps someone had already ventured down that path and figured it out.

The models for citys are in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\DATA\BASES if you have a cmp or 3db editor you can edit them
