Massive addon Question

Where are the jumpgates/holes to the new systems?

Post Mon Oct 13, 2003 1:34 pm

There is an info on then in the Readme.txt (New London entry is a mistake. no hole there)
Otherwise, if you want to spoil your fun with finding them, use FL Datastorm to see their positions.

What I really want to know is if I get into one of the new systems, can I get to all of them from different jumps?

Post Mon Oct 13, 2003 6:51 pm

I really wish they would delete this mod.

I don't know made it, but they are claiming we helped make it when we never did any such thing. This is also a very close clone to TNG. I reorted this a long time ago. There has also never been any more updates for it as it looks like it is no longer supported.

Tygrys made i and it is too supported it is currently being run on a server to test fro bugs and when all the bugs are found v2 is gonna be released tygrys is not like u people at Starfyre he actually fixes the bugs in one go instead of making like 50 different mods, and in my opinion all YOUR mods need to be deleted

Rey, there isn't a whole lot that can be done to FL besides adding new ships, systems, tweaking factions, weapons, and prices.

Your mod does it. Rebalence mod does it, and this one does it.

Calling it a clone it just dumb.

Look, i love TNG, I love Rebalence, I'm starting to realy like Massive Addon. But dude, you're starting to act like you're king ****. Chill out. You probably need a vacation from TRL in light of recent events.

As victor pointed out politely, we are fiddling with data files here, and with some (especially shiparch) there is only a few lines of code you can use to make NPC ships flyable, or new ships (but they have the individual model potential). Hence why people claim clone. ONly in systems is there enough variation that everyones should be individual instead of identical. It is time for people to stop claiming clone when in modifying some files, as there is only certain lines you can use - so they are going to be similar regardless.

However, lets NOT start this whole discussion once more, keep the flames free, and get on with what we are here to do, which is mod.

Personally, like the SUR files at the top of the forum, the ONLY NEW ways forward to mod are to push what we can do once more. Right now all we are doing is refining old techniques and improving on them, but not doing anything new. Personally, i am going to try to see what i can do to the storyline missions after my mod, as that is a direction that will add to the game more than putting in another ship/system. The one i really want is new random missions though, and also of course, dynamic commoditiy market.

Anyone up for having a go at these things?

Reynen,

I think you are wrong on FMA and me.
Thirst thing: FMA is a compilation of mods, not a mod by itself. It was compiled the same time you announced TNG, and is based on simmilar material. And FMA was first in the public. So no clone from TNG ;-) FMA is an addon to the single player game, expanding the universe to explore, not for fighting or MP. It is only the addition to the game, none of the originall universe is changed. It is not to compete with TNG, it is different in idea and in technical implementation. The FMA was made to allow people to have many mods at the same time, not to install/uninstall every single ship. It is to make game bigger, not different like your work is.
I do support it, but have little time to hunt for main problem it has with waypoints. On the other hand, I'm doing it alone so don't expect the new version every week. To release the new version I'll have to collect some more mods people like to give for the compilation.
And I never mentioned you (or whoever 'we' you spoke about) worked with me in this. It has some ships from the FL game you put to live and therefore I consider you as the author of one of the mods used in FMA. If you don't like this let me know. Sorry if I was not clear enough in FMA description.

you are lucky, at least the mod works, i cant get it to work.

I downloaded the mod, and the mod manager included on the download page. Activated the data bit, then activated the addon.

Got to the game, single player this is, juni tried to give me a ship and when i went to launch to space, it wasnt there.

Okay so i save, edit the save to give myself cash and rank 1.

Reload and then when i try and buy a ship it crashes. I dont know how to run a server i just wanted to mod sp so that it plays like multiplayer but with the mods, help appreciated

Well.. i couldnt get the thing working in the end for single player, so i used my spare pc and hosted a lan server with fma installed on both server and client, and it works.

Im impressed i must add, although the new systems could do with some work, som dont even have anything in them.

/me considers learning how to design systems, would be fun me thinks

Post Tue Oct 21, 2003 8:09 am

FMA is a COMPILATION of mods, no the mod by itself.
It is as good as mods included into it. Some systems are really empty, I know.
This is how various authors designed them. See the original mods (all can be downloaded from LR) to see how they works alone.
But among them there are rich systems with beautifull graphics and more stuff in them. Just explore and have fun.

i wouldnt mind seeing silverfires weapons mod included, thats a cool mod, and the only thing you seem not to have included is new weapons

Post Tue Oct 21, 2003 8:41 pm

i cant seem to find how to convert the millenium falcons ship card from chinese to english, it seems like a cool ship, but i wouldnt mind knowing its stats

Post Wed Oct 22, 2003 10:17 am

There are some russian infocards in FMA, but chinise? I'll check it.

And SilverFire mods are quite new, FMA is an old compilation.

Its a millenium falcon, i bought it in sicilia i think it cost $200,100 and has 6 guns and 6 turrets and 250 cargo capacity.

The model shows 7 thrusters, (must admit i had an old one with just one large thruster, which looked MUCH better)

hope this help narrow it down...
