I am strongly inclined to start some sort of patent office

Either in this forum or to ask TLR to do it. New ideas, models, designs, .dll/.ini settings will be registered under the name in the person who first created them, along with a downloadable version of what has been changed as corroborating evidence (so no one can patent an idea that someone else has promised to release later, and no one can patent an idea before they have any work to show for it). Then there will be no more bull**** about proving who really did what.

edit: Sir Spectre came up with the idea a couple of days ago here

Good luck, it' already been said by many people on here they they do not feel that anyone has a right to have ownership to what they created.

The general attitude is "we take what we want, when we want, and we don't need to give you a shred of credit."

There have been many posts confirming this as people have expressed that have a right to use anyone's creation regardless if they want them to or not.

@Imagine, I posted that very same idea to the Site Suggestion & Feedback forum.

@Reynen, I think you have misinterpreted my other thread. Read again my original post and my response to your post.

I wasn't saying everyone felt that way. You obviously don't however it would seem the majority do.

Sir Spectre: Cool. Have you heard back from them?

Reynen: I'm sure that there are people who feel both ways, but unless you have heard from every single person on the community, it would be unwise to jump to conclusions. If indeed people want to protect their "right" to steal content and start flaming me and the patent idea, I take full responsibility. Please don't take this as an insult; I really do respect your modding experience.

I respect Reynen's modding experience as well as Chips, Giskard, and so on. Everyone who creates useful mods that are enjoyed by many are to tributed with praise.

Imagine, I have not received a response yet. Please add a post to the thread in Site Feedback forum that you agree with the creation of such a system. The more people who want it, the better chances of getting it.

This is the first time I've even noticed that forum.

Check out the Off-Topic forum too, there's a lot of fun going on there. And very, very little hostility.

Wouldn't you know it. As soon as I say there is "very, very little hostility" in the Off-Topic forum, I just ran into two cases of dueling posts in the Threads of Lore in a span of 15 minutes.

The "Threads of Lore" is my Specterian term for The Lancers Reactor Forums. But the thread where another dueling of posts was committed was in the Member Pictures thread in the Off-Topic forum.

The other duel was you and Freighter Fighter, and you should be privy to that one.

Yep cast your opinion in the Suggestion and Feedback forum. This has been said before, and has gone off track.
