Need help making a ship

Im trying to make a fraigter, but im having problems. The ship looks like the ship from the movie "the core". im trying to get a effect where the front "locomotive" pulls the other "cars". i want them to curve and bend as they trail behind me but theyre stiff or they break off and sit there. help!
