Long before the Borg and inspiration for them was the Berserker series of stories (Fred Salverberg) about self repairing and replicating machines. Their mission was to Kill of all life, how about a mod that has large capitol type ships spheres with the programing to kill all ships, if they see it they destroy it, randomly moving around, repairing themselves and everyone hates them?

The basic berserker was a sphere or cylinder with armor and gun mounts. Picture a base model (prison ship or refinery) with a really bad day going.
