Starting Ship/Cargo (for MP)

i am just getting into modding, by looking @ other mods.. and working with them (did the same thing with tribes )

so, whats the MP starting ship id?

i have guessed it one of 3..

msn_playerloadout , msn_playerloadout_faux or MP_ge_fighter (from the loadouts.ini)... now i have tried by editing (and using a FLMM edited mod to edit, as well as editing the loadouts.ini) by adding like 4 nanobots but it didnt show

Oh impatient eh? Well, if you are trying this out in MP, then you will find that a) it won't work, b) You will get booted for cheating. The starting ship and loadout is server side, not player side.

i read the starting ship thing, editing the .fl file.. but thats not what i need

i need it to start with stuff.. ect weapons..


its not for cheating, its for a lan i host

Well, I Did write a tutorial on how you can set the starting ship for a MP game, and that's only if you host. Why don't you check it out here first, and post any questions you have. Keep in mind though, that the tutorial only covers how to start with different ships.

For cargo, just add a line like
cargo = cargo_you_want, 50 <--amount of cargo.
to your ship's loadout.

the select_equip.ini file contains the commodities.

add the cargo line in the .fl or the .ini file?

also i tried editing loadouts.ini AND using a mod with FLMM, just testing by adding on more tihng, eg 4 nano's.. but it didnt work

also that tutorial says to edit msn_playerloadout.. i have worked that out 2 be single player

If the tutorial doesn't help you any, just tell me what ship you want with whatever weapons and cargo you require. I'll post up the loadout for it that you can paste right into your mpnewcharacter.fl file.

i guess a sabe.. full nano's.. that kinda stuff... me and a fre friends just gonna go zooming around... we wanna try and map it all in 2 days with out been matched by rouges ect ect

First, I only referenced the msn_playerloadout to point out what makes up the ship. Second, you don't make any changes to the loadouts.ini file, or any other ini file. They're all just references. The only file you'll modify is the mpnewcharacter.fl file. Here's the ship without weapons. Just what you asked for, a sabre with full nanos and batteries. Copy and paste the following into your mpnewcharacter.fl file.

BiniQ or BiniQDU are the easiest of the tools for decoding ini files - although you can use notepad IF it decodes them.
