only MS3d can export to CMP format.
There's a 3DS MAX to MS3D exporter available out there.
Just search for it in the NET.

I used a search function in a browser (i would be more helpful but i honestly don't have the addy for it).......however, i find this even MORE difficult to use than milkshape!! And i can't get the hang of rhino either! The tutorials never seem to work, and blah blah blah! might have to buy milkshape at this rate as i can't get the others to do anything. At least in milkshape i could make a face! (i still can't get whatever i max in ms3dmax to work!! - HOW??)

but its my kind of thing cause he said that the computer makes a solid surface by drawing lines.
