mega mod idea - BATTLE-SHIPPING!

Apperantly im on a roll with these goofy FL mod ideas tonight, and this one seemed funny to me. With battle-shipping, everyone (ai and players) can ONLY fly battleships, cruisers, and supper-bs's (make bigger versions of the battleships)

Plus throw in merchant vessils, which are battle-ships (or cruisers) retrofitted for cargo haul's. (just give them big shields, with slower-than-norm engines, whale-like manovering, and low power weapons. And lets not forget that HUgE cargo hold)

I myself would do this mod, but my modding experiance and skill... eh... suck.

very baddly.

Anyway, are there any modders who would try this?

It wouldn't be fun for those who prefer agility over firepower. The Ghost is for those who prefer to really move after all.

and not to mention how laggy and slow it would be without playing mp

I am planning a return to cap the coalition, well there will be missions where the player will fly a battleship... But fighters still play an effective role in any task force.

Is there a possibility to put a base to a moving ship? I mean docking of other fighters with your battleship.

Don't think that it is possible....i know that stafyre studios are looking into that idea - so i suppose Reynen is the person to answer really. All i know is that a friend tried about two months ago to make it possible, and seeing as he was the most talented modder i knew - if he couldn't do it then.................

Could be anybody. A number of people tried it but failed. Even i tried it. The reason it failed though is due to the way the engine is constructed. Base ini files are refered to by the system and not a generic base folder. Because of that, dynamic bases that move are incapable of registering on the game without crashing those who dock with the ships.

Oh and people, Reynens actually starting the fighters docking with Flyable Battleships (But this'll cause problems. You can't dock with something that moves)!!

But on that, NO-one really thought that the AI are quite Stupid. I'm planning to make them Super-Intelligent!!
